Why compare hotel prices with HotelHero?

The same room can cost different amounts

Booking sites run their own promotions, member rates and packages, so the price for the same room and dates often varies. Comparing is the quickest way to find the lowest one.

One form instead of seven tabs

Type your destination and dates once. HotelHero builds the search on every big booking site for you, ready to open in a click.

Independent and free

We’re not a booking site and never add fees. Some links may earn us a small commission from the site, which keeps HotelHero free.

How HotelHero finds you the best hotel deal

  1. Tell us where and when

Pick a city, town or area, your dates and how many guests.

  2. We line up every big site

You get one-click searches on Booking.com, Hotels.com, Expedia, trivago, KAYAK, lastminute.com and Google Hotels for the same stay.

  3. Compare the real total

Open each site, check the price for the same room with taxes, breakfast and cancellation terms, and spot the cheapest.

  4. Book direct, no fees

Book with the site you choose. HotelHero never adds a fee and never takes your payment.

How to get the cheapest price for a UK hotel

  • Compare the same stay everywhere. Same hotel, same dates, same room type and same board (room only or with breakfast).
  • Look at the total, not the headline. Some sites show prices before taxes or fees, and city taxes or parking can add to the bill.
  • Check the hotel’s own website too. Hotels sometimes offer direct-booking perks such as free breakfast or flexible cancellation.
  • Be flexible with dates. City hotels are often cheaper at weekends, while countryside and seaside hotels often cost less midweek.
  • Weigh up refundable rates. A non-refundable rate is usually cheaper, but a free-cancellation rate lets you rebook if prices drop.
  • Sign in for member prices. Several booking sites show lower prices to members who are logged in. Membership is usually free.

Hotel deals across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

Frequently asked questions

How does HotelHero compare hotel prices?
You enter a destination, dates and guests once. HotelHero then gives you the matching search on Booking.com, Hotels.com, Expedia, trivago, KAYAK, lastminute.com and Google Hotels, so you can open each one and see its live prices for exactly the same stay.
Is HotelHero a booking site?
No. HotelHero is a free comparison service. You always book directly with the site or hotel you choose, under its terms, and it takes your payment, not us.
Does it cost anything to use?
No. HotelHero is free and never adds a booking fee. Some links may be affiliate links, so a booking site may pay us a commission when you book. This never changes your price.
Why does the same hotel cost different amounts on different sites?
Booking sites and hotels set their own promotions, member-only rates, package deals and cancellation options, and some show prices before taxes or fees. That’s why it pays to compare the full total for the same room and dates.
Is trivago or KAYAK not already a comparison site?
Yes, both are metasearch sites that compare many providers. They don’t always show the same set of offers, though, so checking them alongside the big booking sites gives you the widest view of prices.
